Why We Added Structured Cabling & IT Networking to Our Scope

Intellicon has formally launched a Structured Cabling & IT Networking division — fiber, CCTV, access control, PABX, server rooms and IT support AMC, delivered alongside our existing BMS work. It is not a new direction; it is the part of the job we were already doing informally on almost every project.

The Gap We Kept Running Into

On almost every commercial fit-out and retrofit, the BMS network and the building's IT/data network share the same physical infrastructure — containment routes, IDF/MDF rooms, and often the same cable pathways. When a separate contractor handled structured cabling on a different schedule, we regularly discovered contested routing, undersized comms rooms, or protocol conflicts only at commissioning — expensive to fix late, trivial to avoid at design stage.

Formalising structured cabling and IT networking as a direct Intellicon service means one team designs the shared infrastructure from day one — no handoff gap between the BMS contractor and the IT fit-out contractor.

What's Included

The new division covers Cat6/Cat6A data and voice cabling, LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi builds, fiber optic and FTTH backbone for multi-floor or campus sites, CCTV and access control integration, PABX telephony systems, and full server room design and build — racks, cooling, power distribution and cable management.

An IT support AMC is available for ongoing maintenance once a network is live — the same commissioning-and-handover discipline we already apply to BMS projects, extended to the network layer.

Who This Is For

Anyone already engaging Intellicon for BMS on a new build or retrofit is the natural first fit — bundling cabling design into the same site survey avoids a second contractor mobilisation. It also stands alone: offices, warehouses and campuses needing a network refresh without a BMS component are welcome to scope structured cabling only.
