What does an energy monitoring dashboard show?

An energy monitoring dashboard shows real-time and historical consumption data for electricity, chilled water (BTU), domestic water, gas, and other utilities metered in the building. Typical views include: total building consumption trends, consumption by zone or tenant, peak demand tracking, KPIs (kWh/m², kWh/occupant), alarms for abnormal consumption, and carbon or ESG export reports.

What data sources feed the dashboard?

Dashboards are fed from electricity meters (Modbus or pulse), BTU meters, water meters, and BMS data points. Intellicon integrates these sources via Modbus TCP, BACnet, or direct API. Data source availability is confirmed during the site survey — the dashboard is configured to the meters and points that exist on site.

Is the dashboard cloud-based or on-premise?

Both options are available. Cloud-based dashboards are suitable for buildings with reliable internet connectivity and where remote access is required. On-premise dashboards run on a local server within the building network and are preferred where data residency or offline operation is a requirement. Intellicon recommends based on the client's infrastructure and security requirements.

Can the dashboard be used for ESG reporting?

Energy monitoring dashboards can export consumption data in formats suitable for ESG and sustainability reporting. Carbon intensity figures depend on the emission factor source (e.g. DEWA published carbon factor) and reporting framework selected. Intellicon provides the metered consumption data — ESG framework alignment and external audit are the responsibility of the client's sustainability team.

How long does it take to implement an energy monitoring dashboard?

A basic dashboard for an already-metered building typically takes 4–8 weeks from site survey to go-live. Duration depends on the number of data sources, integration complexity, dashboard customisation, and client review cycles. Projects requiring new meter installation are scoped separately.
