Frequently Asked Questions

What is a BMS control panel?

A BMS control panel (also called a DDC panel or HVAC control panel) houses the field controllers, I/O modules, power supply, and marshalling terminals that connect the BMS to physical mechanical equipment — sensors, actuators, dampers, and VFDs. Intellicon designs, fabricates, and tests these panels for commercial HVAC and building automation projects in the UAE.

What does a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) involve?

A FAT is carried out at Intellicon's premises before the panel is dispatched to site. It verifies that every input and output point is correctly wired and labeled, that the controller programme is loaded and functional, that communications are established, and that the HMI graphics match the sequence of operations. The test is witnessed by the client or their representative.

What is included in a Site Acceptance Test (SAT)?

The SAT is carried out after the panel is installed and connected to site equipment. It verifies the full control loop — sensor reading, controller response, actuator movement — for every point in the system. Alarm and trending functionality is also verified. Intellicon provides signed SAT certificates for authority handover.

Do you fabricate panels in the UAE?

Yes. Intellicon designs and coordinates panel fabrication for UAE projects. Panel build quality, component grades, and labelling standards are confirmed at the design review stage, subject to the project specification and authority requirements.

What documentation is included with a BMS control panel?

Each panel includes: schematic drawings (GA, schematic, wiring), panel schedule, point list, sequence of operations, FAT report, SAT report, component datasheets, and warranty documentation. All documents are produced in English and formatted for Dubai Civil Defence or applicable authority submission.
